The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Group

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, demons, and sinister influences expanding in power within the city.

Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Revealed

Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of characters who will split off from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.

Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The antagonist then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each character has a individual motive to exit the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows the region and cautions that it is a hostile place.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the party access places they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and The healer defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.

This results in them little choice but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Seekers and Planners parties.

Fans can look forward to learning which players will be where in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on next week.
