The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
